Once seen as exotic, mangos are now the most popular fruit in the world.
In order to meet global demand, mangoes must stay fresh while enduring long transport times. Hazel’s product for mangoes preempts the damaging effects of ethylene on the fruit and slows the maturation process, allowing shippers to ship with confidence and retailers to sell more.
In 2019, we tested Hazel 100 for mango on approximately 30 percent of our export shipments, with 25-32 day transit times to Europe or Asia. Our product arrived with consistently higher firmness and lower incidence of decay such as anthracnose, and as a result we reduced quality claims by 75 percent. We look forward to fully incorporating Hazel Tech into our export containers this upcoming season.
