Hazel Datica is an internet connected device, which is placed within the long-term storage facility or "room" during a 1-MCP treatment. Throughout the course of the treatment period and after, Datica monitors the temperature, humidity, 1-MCP, and ethylene levels of the storage environment, then transmits that data back to the Hazel team for analysis.

Breatheway customizes its crop-specific Temperature Switch membranes to match the permeability (or permeation rate) with the specific respiration rate of the produce. This alignment ensures that the packaging can adapt to changes in respiration rates, enhancing its ability to regulate the balance of natural gases absorbed and released through its barrier.
When carbon dioxide levels spike within produce packaging, Breatheway’s Temperature Switch Technology Membrane activates. Swiftly expelling excess CO2 through its permeable barrier and absorbing O2, Breatheway stabilizes the packaging atmosphere to optimal levels before decay can begin.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hazel Datica require a power source to function?
Yes, the Datica unit will plug into a normal wall outlet or extension cord. The application fan will plug into the Datica unit. If no power source is available, please contact your account executive so we can work on a solution that fits your needs.
Does Hazel Datica require me to use a computer?
Hazel Datica does not require a computer, but it does require an internet connection. You will need to enter your treatment information on either your phone, tablet, or laptop. The information will be submitted at www.dashboard.hazeltechnologies.com.
